ParkPin Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
ParkPin does not have user accounts or its own servers. Your saved parking locations, photos, and app settings stay in an encrypted local database on your device. ParkPin does not upload these records to its own servers, sell them, or share them for advertising.
Permissions and how they are used
- Location while using the app: Used to show your parking spot on a map and open a walking route back to your vehicle.
- Background location: Used only when you enable Smart Auto Save, to detect when you leave your vehicle and start walking so the app can save the last reliable parking spot. ParkPin does not create a continuous location history.
- Motion and activity recognition: Helps detect the transition from driving to walking and reduce incorrect automatic saves.
- Camera: Lets you take a photo of a level, zone, or pillar sign. Text recognition runs on your device; photos are not sent to ParkPin servers.
- Bluetooth: The app checks connection status so a vehicle Bluetooth disconnect can act as a parking signal.
- Notifications: Used for parking-duration reminders and in-app timer alerts. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device. ParkPin does not send remote notifications or collect notification tokens.
Third-party services
Google Maps (Android): ParkPin uses the Google Maps SDK to provide map tiles and map features. During map requests, the SDK may send Google device and SDK information (such as operating system, device model, and SDK version), IP address, SDK crash logs and metrics, and a pseudonymous SDK identifier. Depending on app configuration and use, interactions such as panning or zooming the map may also be sent. Google processes this data to provide, maintain, and improve its services.
Google Play Billing: Manages ParkPin Pro purchases. Google processes payment information; ParkPin does not see or store your card details.
ParkPin does not sell app data to third parties for analytics or advertising. The app does not use Firebase Cloud Messaging for remote notifications or token registration.
Data storage and deletion
ParkPin stores its records in an encrypted local database on your device. You can delete your parking history in the app. Uninstalling the app also removes ParkPin data stored on the device.
The data and deletion policies of Google Play Billing and Google Maps apply to information those services process.
Children's privacy
ParkPin is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Policy updates
We will update this policy if ParkPin's data practices change. The current version will be published on this page with a revised update date.
